For over 40 years Maine photographer Neal Parent has been photographing the coast of Maine, its people, places and coastline.  Living in Belfast on the Maine coast has afforded him infinite opportunities to photograph Downeast’s scenic richness: landscapes, seascapes, boats, lighthouses and harbors. 

Many of his images have been taken while sailing the coast on Midcoast Maine’s windjammers, conducting his popular photography workshops.  In addition to private digital workshops, Neal taught at Maine Media Workshops in Rockport, Maine, as well as on the ketch Angelique.  Past workshop locations include Scotland, Wales, Italy, Ireland, France, China, Canada, Florida, Montana and Wyoming.

Neal’s entertaining teaching style laced with humor has inspired many other photographers to discover their own talents. Many students became friends and returned year after year to hone their photography skills and had a great time working with Neal.
